Edges and Advances

• You are skilled at keeping yourself together through sheer force of will. Instead of half of your agility + 2 for your inflation limit you may use one half your spirit + 2. When rolling against forfeit you may use your spirit die.

• Your keen wit serves you well in distracting opponents. When dealing Stimulation damage you may add your smarts die to whatever other trait die you are rolling and add the resulting totals. If you succeed on a standard taunt test vs an opponent, on top of the usual effects of success on a test, the opponent takes Stimulation damage equal to a roll of your smarts die.

Hindrances

• As a major hindrance you have 12 inflation levels permanently residing in you that leaves you at size +2, that’s the volume of a grizzly or a horse, all clothing and armor costs 3 times the usual amount, you will run into situations often where society just isn’t built to accommodate someone of your sheer volume.

• As a Major Hindrance it’s an overriding desire that comes up frequently or causes peril for the heroine and those around her.

• A Major Habit is a physical or mental addiction of some sort that is debilitating or possibly even deadly. This includes drug use, chronic drinking, or perhaps even an addiction to virtual reality in a high- tech setting. An addict who doesn’t get his fix must make a Vigor roll every 24 hours he goes without or take a level of Fatigue (see page 100).

Astrid was born in Apex city. In the Industrial District. She's proud enough of her city, but she like many others isn't blind to the corruption in the city. In the deep city, and watching the lights across the lake. She wasn't talented enough or wealthy enough to go to Fulstaff University herself, but grew up hearing about the Auramancers and the war on the surface. She spent much of her adolescence working for a crime family. The Newhampton Crime Family. Mostly as a gofer because they only properly hire surface dewllers.

When the wars between the clans kicked off, she was lucky enough to get enough bootleg and second hand training and tech that she could become an Auramancer.Once the streets were quiet again, she stayed on as a guard. It was in the underground markets where eshe realized the value of both information and paydata. After years of watching common runners get paid big time for seemingly innocuoous information, she resolved to join them. Ever since then she's been a runner. Quitting the Crime Family on bad-ish terms, but not burning that bridge entirely.

Astrid is Motivated by her desire to gain money, but more than that, gian understanding. In her mind, there's enough paydata out there that if she could just find it, she could not only be set for life, but she could uncover some serious power. Power that could give her the freedom to do whatever and be whoever she wants in Apex City.
